UniLink appointed as an iP3 Certified Business Partner
5 December, 2006
Starting in 1996, The UniLink Group successfully built supply-chain connectivity primarily in the building trades with customers like GE, Whirlpool, Honeywell, Emerson, Masco, Lennox, Johnson Controls, and their customer networks. In December 1999, UniLink had built or acquired a five million dollar revenue run-rate, with 100 employees, 50 manufacturers, and over 25,000 service centers processing transactions.
In January 2000, the building trades markets (HVACOnline, PlumbingOnline, ElectricalOnline, and AppliancePartners) were merged with BuildNet to create the first end-to-end Business-to-Business (B2B) building industry marketplace. The transaction was a $27 million convertible note and was convertible into BuildNet common stock. The transaction occurred as BuildNet was raising $100 million and planning to go public May of 2000. BuildNet did not go public, spent the $100 million, and filed for bankruptcy in August 2001. As part of BuildNet, UniLink processed its transactions plus all the transactions that ran through the BuildNet hub.
In September 2001 the original owners of UniLink took back control over their business. It operates today as an independent company. We have over 75 manufacturers and 100 distributors in the building industry sharing a wide variety of document types.
UniLink is the market leader in supply chain connectivity within the building industry providing a single bi-directional electronic connection for buyers and sellers to communicate their documents easily and quickly to one another.
